At Ocean Grove, Grants Braes blunted Caversham's attack to earn a nil-all draw, and give coach Al Laidler a platform to work from this season. The game was a free flowing affair with both teams having a number of chances to break the dead-lock. Player of the Day Goal Keeper - Anthony Mellon.

Braes were leading up until the 86th minute and leaked two quick goals before the final whistle, to unfortunately go down considering a top effort put in by the boys.
3rds
Grants Braes 4 Dunedin Tech 2
Having been promoted to fourth grade this year it is going to be an interesting ride for the 3rds this season, but in saying this they got their season off with a bang. Playing Dunedin Tech away, the home side managed to get on the score sheet first, but the boys dug deep and finished the half three one up. The second half lost a bit of shape for both teams and with a goal each in the second spell ended a fair reflection of the match.
